FIU’s research is making a real impact. From ridge to reef, the Institute of Environment leads projects from the Amazon to the Everglades to the Nile basin, ensuring that every corner of our planet is protected and healthy. The Institute leads research related to the environment.

Our Department of Earth and Environment (E&E) provides virtual 360 tours – including FIU’s Nature Preserve and the Florida Keys Memorial Hurricane Monument. The department leads academic opportunities for prospective and current FIU students.
